Decision time for city's future goals

On a mission to choose the city's big goals for the next two years, the Mountain City Council last week took a messy priority list and trimmed it down to a slightly smaller mess.

Message to Dan Rich:

Yes, a fix to the transportation issues most certainly will not produce results in the near future. Failure to see that is why things keep getting worse. This needs to be addressed as a large, comprehensive solution. A short-sighted approach will never get this done. Piecemeal additions of a traffic light here or a bike path there are cosmetic band aids.

So, start thinking and planning bigger and more regionally. Start immediately! Have an action plan with specific timeframes and deliverables.

In the meantime, yes, continue with a few no-brainers...slow development down, keep 3 lanes on El Camino, "smartly" expand City shuttle routes, synchronize lights on El Camino...
