This goes to show that most politicians stand for what is in vogue but can be made to back off by an angry mob of rich people - including this year's mayor and last year's mayor who live in the targeted "hood." Councilmember John McAlister also lives nearby. With access to Stevens Creek trail, these houses are good for anyone. But anytime one person or group of persons is selected for assistance, it is at the expense and to the exclusion of others. Lots of persons and "families" need help - not just the "homeless" that arrive in a particular city or camp along a particular creek. We had one anonymous fellow in an earlier online back-and-forth refer to Waverly Park as "lily white." He (or she) plainly had never even walked in the neighborhood. Nowadays, the neighborhood, like the county overall, has residents from most everywhere. But the residents are not poor and do not panhandle at the corner of Sleeper and Grant. Does this system of private property and the ability to buy things with money DISCRIMINATE AGAINST PERSONS WITH LESS OR NO PROPERTY OR MONEY? Yes. That is the system and it works pretty well as a starting point.
