psr is a registered user.
The only reason Siegel hasn't heard any objections is because he isn't interested in what people say, though I don't think that is any different than the rest of this council.
It doesn't surprise me that the council wants to tax something else so they have yet more money to waste as they see fit. God forbid that people be allowed to do what they wish with their own property. They want to regulate something even though it hasn't been a problem. Typical.
Maybe, just maybe, the city council could spend their time doing something other than trying to find ways to extract money from the residents of the city. They could focus on spending the money they already have wisely for a change. Perhaps they could give that a try and see how it works.

So this is what City Council could have done while they were busy passing unnecessary regulations on gasoline delivery.

Short-term rentals should be subject to the same rules and regulations as hotels. Airbnb is a billion dollar commercial operation and they shouldn't be allowed to operate as pirates.
And before you short-term landlords cry "down with regulation", ask yourself what would you do if a tenant refused to vacate after an overnight stay. Unless you are ok with "go through a 3+ month eviction process", then recognize that you depend on all the privileges and responsibilities that go with operating a hotel, and that includes paying tax.
