Oh here we go... another full blown proof of how inbred the boys' club paradigm is in US court processes vav male violence against women. The DA who is expected to prosecute crimes to the highest degree supports a judge who trivializes the rape of a drugged girl by a privileged Stanford athlete. Oh yeh! that's how they roll.

So there is moral outrage at a judge handing down a sentence that is deemed too short when the criminal is a college student raping an adult victim while the victim was incapacitated. I agree that three months is pretty short for this crime.

@psr,
You seem to be quite confused about the difference in roles between lawyers and judges. Everyone in this country deserves a vigorous legal defense; our justice system is built upon that presumption. Yes, that includes alleged murderers, rapists, burglars. Are they supposed to be deprived of legal representation because they've been accused of a crime? Should defense lawyers run a little mini-trial ahead of time to see if they should provide them a defense?
Just, on the other hand, are meant to, guess what, pass judgment. It's quite clear that this judges judgment is inadequate, since the sentence they delivered to a duly convicted sexual assailant has so shocked the conscience of our community and nation.
