'Meteor' sighted over Bay Area sky was a missile test launch

A bright light traveling across the dark sky Tuesday morning was one of two missile tests conducted by the U.S. Navy over the Pacific Ocean, a Navy official said.

Does anyone remember the white, thin web-like material that floated through this area and could be retrieved from Black Mountain that rolled into a compressible mass? Back then the government said it was from spiders but it has never been seen before or after. I'm just asking...
