Where are the statistics to support bicycle accidents as the #1 cause of TBI? A couple of years ago, according to the NIH, the leading cause was falls, followed by motor vehicle accidents, followed by sports of all categories.

If the claim is that it the third category, sports-related TBI, cycling accidents are the leading cause, that is also suspect. The number of Americans who bike regularly vs. play football is quite small.

People like to think cycling is just dangerous, and the way this article is framed seems to play to their fears. A little rigor with the data would be helpful.
