Snow, elves, carolers and candy canes -- it must be December in downtown Mountain View.

It's amazing the lengths some will go to avoid using the word "Christmas". Everything mentioned is related to Christmas. Santa delivers presents on Christmas Eve. Hopefully no one is offended.

I think most have bigger priorities to worry about. Good luck on your crusade and Happy Holidays!! (I say that because you never stated your religion)

While I'm an agnostic, the tip-toeing around the term "Christmas" is ridiculous.
Anyway, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

"Anyway, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!"

EXACTLY!! Happy Holidays to all! :)

Agreed with the tip-toeing -- it's ridiculous. Christmas is deeply religious to some, a secular / consumerist day off to others, and a little of both for many/most. I was there on Monday night and not one of our City Councilmen could be bothered to say the obvious "Merry Christmas." Not even "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays."

As a participant in the Mountain View Tree Lighting and part of the audience the rest of the time, I was impressed by the number of Christmas songs presented by the performing groups and also noticed the absence of Hanukkah songs that we have heard in years past.

It's all fun and a lot of credit goes to Mountain View for offering this free to the community each year. Neighboring cities are sadly lacking in the holiday spirit.

This is victimhood culture run amok! Our city attempts to throw a celebration of the holiday season, and the usual suspects jump at the chance to claim oppression. The winter season is a wonderful time with many different celebrations across cultures and religions.

Happy Holidays, and have a Happy New Year everyone!

No kidding. "It's all OK as long as they specify MY holiday". Just think how wet and loud the sniveling would have been if they said Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays"

You can't really expect much from certain people -- after all, they actually believe the nonsense that Bill O'Reilly put out about there being a "War on Christmas."

Never mind, of course, that no such thing is actually going on.
