New farmers' market baker knows art, science of bread-making

In a tiny village in central France where Portola Valley resident Fiona Strouts' parents live, the arrival of the baker and his cargo of homemade bread tends to infuse the air with excitement. Strouts may do the same for her hometown.

Not the Mountain View Farmer's Market? I don't think that many people will drive to Portola Valley for bread when there are great bakers at our very own market.

The best bread in the world is baked at Acme right here in Mountain View. That's what the Voice should be writing a story about.

ACME is a good alternative to the actual best bread in the area, which used to be made at the Pescadero store. ACME is a good second best...first best while the Pescadero store is being rebuilt. Once it's back open it will reclaim the title for those who are lucky enough to be in the know.
