Los Altos woman named Rhodes Scholar

A Los Altos woman was selected as one of 32 students this year to study at Oxford University starting in October as part of the Rhodes Scholar Class of 2017, University of Notre Dame officials said today.

Alexis Doyle: Bless your heart and all my warmest wishes for success at Oxford and beyond. Obviously you are a self-starter so my input is probably superfluous but nonetheless I happily sent it on to you.

We need all the talented young women we can find and support in this world. Go get 'em girl.

@Reader - Ms. Doyle grew up in Los Altos and graduated from St. Francis High School in Mountain View

And kudos to Saint Francis HS, that connection should have been mentioned as the school is in Mountain View and the publication is the Mountain View Voice. IMO the Mtn View Voice headline should have been 'Saint Francis Alum named Rhodes Scholar'.

Yep. The article and the headline both stink. The only local connection mentioned in the article is the phrase "a Los Altos woman". That's not even correct since she doesn't currently live in Los Altos!
