DA study finds racial disparity in prosecutions

A new study by the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office about fairness in the criminal system raises questions about disproportionate prosecution of black and Hispanic defendants in the county, and points to a need for further study on the matter, according to District Attorney Jeff Rosen.

If Jeff Rosen really liked things this way then he wouldn't have conducted the study.

It could be that a higher proportion of blacks and Hispanics COMMIT CRIMES or GET CAUGHT. Is someone actually taking money for these "studies"?

The story does need a reference to the study itself. I found a pdf at Web Link

I can't be sure it is the referenced study although it appears to be. I would say that the funding is irrelevant. The question is whether the analysis had the appropriate co-variables for previous arrests and convictions, etc.
