96 degrees at Miffett Field! No way! It was easily 100 degrees, probably closer 110 on Sunday. I'd like to know why our temp recordings are always so much lower than the real temps.

take your thermometer off the black wall. 110 indeed.

Sorry, that was rude. The area high's for Sunday:
Palo Alto: 97.3
Sunnyvale 95
Los Altos, 92.8
Mountain View, 98.1

Unless everyone is under representing the "real" temperature, things look in line for MV. You have to trust the amazingly accurate technology used to measure temps rather than just how it feels though. Also, placement of the thermometer has to be uniform as well(wind guarded, not in direct sun or contact where reflective heat can falsely heat the sensor...that sort of stuff.

the thermometer in your cars hot engine compartment driving in the full sun over a black road surface doesn't measure an accurate temperature.
