VTA looking for feedback from commuters on Highway 280 corridor

Frequent commuters on Interstate Highway 280 from Palo Alto to San Jose can provide feedback on how to improve conditions along the corridor at a community meeting this evening.

It shouldn't be too difficult to identify the problem areas. Just look for backups caused by unnecessary merges, such as Magdalena Road and Northbound 280 as it passes under 680/17.

There is an incredibly obvious need for a traffic light at the 280-S / Page Mill offramp, rather than the stop sign that is there today. The backup caused by the stop sign creeps dangerously far onto the highway, and for no reason-- there is practically no cross traffic. A few wealthy neighbors have petitioned against it, but it is a clear, badly needed improvement.

Agree that stop lights at Page Mill & I-280 are long overdue.
