Wait, what happens to the owners of the parked vehicles that were damaged by this driver? Does their insurance cover that?

Car drivers and alcohol drinkers.

@Filippo - you can file a claim with the driver's insurance company. Since they have been arrested, finding their insurance company shouldn't be hard. If that doesn't work, your own insurance will have coverage against uninsured motorists.

Pro tip: the legal minimum uninsured motorist coverage is too low for modern California. Ask your insurance agent about paying a little extra for much better coverage. This will also protect you against hit-and-run, which is too common in Mountain View. I've used this twice over the years, when my car was nailed when parked in a city parking lot. No, the city does not cover damage in public parking lots.
