Strike over, Superior Court clerks tackle backlog

Santa Clara County Superior Court workers returned to their jobs Monday after an eight-day strike that ended when their union reached a tentative agreement on a new contract last week and ratified it over the weekend.

Hopefully staff will be added and normal business hours resumed for the clerks' offices. As it is, excessive time is spent by members of the public waiting in long lines.

How much overtime will they be making to catch up on the backlog of work that they created?
