Court employees continue strike Thursday over demands for pay raises

A strike by a union representing more than 300 Santa Clara County Superior Court employees demanding pay raises they say are long overdue will continue Thursday.

Good luck with that.

Considering rent increases far outstrip the economic growth in the area I wouldn't expect much to change.
My rent went up 6% and I only got a 2% raise, do the math. It's only a mater of time before I will have to leave the area, housing costs are insane.

The story is confusing: The union is striking because it wants a raise, and the court is offering a 10% raise over six months. The story doesn't say 10% is considered not enough; is this the issue?

Another example, among a myriad of others, why the entire premise collective bargaining against the government needs to be abolished.
