We need to keep getting raises to keep up with the pace of the economy,"
Good luck with that.
Considering rent increases far outstrip the economic growth in the area I wouldn't expect much to change.
My rent went up 6% and I only got a 2% raise, do the math. It's only a mater of time before I will have to leave the area, housing costs are insane.

The story is confusing: The union is striking because it wants a raise, and the court is offering a 10% raise over six months. The story doesn't say 10% is considered not enough; is this the issue?

Another example, among a myriad of others, why the entire premise collective bargaining against the government needs to be abolished.
