Youth Inpatient Mental Health Care Now Available in Santa Clara County

Original post made by Sarah1000, another community, on Jul 30, 2016

Inpatient psychiatric care for youth is now available in Santa Clara County for the first time in over twenty years. San Jose Behavioral Health's adolescent unit (in south county close to the intersection of 85 and 101) is open to teens ages 14 - 17 who are commercially insured and whose parents/guardians approve voluntary admission. (SJBH is in the process of getting approval to serve additional youth.) SJBH has a mobile assessment team and can provide transport to their facility. Admission is available 24/7. Please see http://www.sanjosebh.com for details about the facility and programs. For admissions, call 6692345959 or 8778015455.
We are still waiting for Stanford/LPCH to offer some beds for suicidal teens in our community.
