Not why the recommendation includes walking and biking given the air is unhealthy.

Air quality was fine for walking and bicycling in Mountain View today. The Spare The Air warning was because smog from the peninsula was blowing south into San Jose and the south bay area. Reducing pollution here helps to save the health of our south bay neighbors.
There is another Spare The Air warning for Tuesday, so you have another chance to do your part. Web Link
