Uber driver arrested for alleged sexual assault

East Palo Alto police have arrested an Uber driver for sexually allegedly assaulting his passenger after an incident that began in Palo Alto, police Commander Jeff Liu said in a statement.

Are drivers seriously screened or is this just a way for Uber executives to make money at the expense of public safety?
