Palo Alto City should seek and encourage a new movie theatre venturer to take over, since Cine Arts is leaving the Palo Alto Square. Indie films are very popular in Palo Alto, there is a strong following of people interested in these films. With the additional new event of Film Meetup groups ... Indie fan numbers keep growing all the time. I am shocked to hear that upgrades need to be made on this theatre. I can not imagine what that could possible be, this theatre looks to be in great shape. The seats and the seating arrangement is most comfortable, the screen appears to be in great shape. Perhaps a new theatre venture capitalist could see that the theatre by used in multiple ways: 1) corporate and business lectures and meetings during the weekdays, 2) "Best Indie films of the past" shown in the early afternoons on weekends, 3) New Indie films shown in the late afternoon and evenings, 4) Open some of the movies to top foreign films from other countries. If utilized wisely and fiscally handled in smart ways, this community treasure could be easily saved, its business prospects could be quite successful.
