The whole idea that you can't just park anywhere you like in the little town of Mountain View is really silly. We have all these parking enforcement people driving around ticketing people for a problem that doesn't exist.

What was the source of those wildly inaccurate estimates, on which the city based its planning and wasted all that money? VTA?

I personally think the city did a reasonable job in being cautious about potential parking problems that fortunately did not arise.

If parking did become an issue, then people would have been up in arms saying stuff like "Why didn't you foresee these problems? What are you going to do about it?"

Moreover, I think the city should also be commended for cancelling this parking program armed with actual data that shows the program isn't necessary.

What the city did was the better way of handling it, without letting chaos reign.

Great! It was pretty clear that the program was unnecessary, given the parking lots are empty on game days.

Government bureaucrats at ever level want more money. They will create problems if they can extract more money working on a fix. Parking permits. Toll lanes. Business licenses. Development fees. You name it. Government will try to tax it.

Santa Clara business got stuck with the penny savers parking. Signs around the stadium for almost a mile NO GAME DAY parking. A reason not to park at Mtn View may be the $20 LT Rail cost to go to the game. Plus there are so many other places to park along VTA closer to the stadium.

Santa Clara getting stuck with parking is exactly how it should be. They want the stadium, they can deal with parking.

Please remove all of those "eyesore" signs for Levi Stadium events. There are too many signs already. The costs were immense and the signs were erected to keep visitors from parking near downtown Mountain View. Just another poorly veiled attempt to eliminate competitive parking opportunities for other residents and visitors. The signs were erected to assuage a local volunteer parking committee that want their members to park in front of their homes and not on their property 7 days per week whatever it takes. Their is a residential parking permit proposal perilously close to approval. Consider making Old Mountain View a gated community. We'll all save money in the long run. All of these Speed Humps, Bumps, Roundabouts and signage are awful and uninviting. Park on your own property and all of these perceived problems will go away.
No overnight parking and 2 hour parking restrictions will solve all parking problems near downtown.
Of course homes with no driveways (perhaps 10 in total) can request help from the city and secure 1 or 2 permits.
