Does anyone in Mountain View actually have AT&T fiber available at their address. They put fiber on the poles here in Monta Loma months ago, but as far as I know there aren't any addresses here where service is currently available. I plugged in a bunch of random addresses from around town and none of them seems to be eligible for service. I even emailed the manager of the AT&T store and she had no idea what neighborhoods actually have fiber. I'll believe "tens of thousands" of households when I even see one.

I think AT&T is just doing some kind of minimal rollout as a PR ploy and perhaps to derail or preempt Google fiber. Feel free to prove me wrong, AT&T.

We got hooked up a few days ago in Old Mountain View. Best speeds I've seen so far are 600mbps down and about 250mbps up, with great ping times. Not gigabit so far, but very fast. And at least for now, it is actually cheaper than our Comcast bill, if you accept the absurd spy clause. ($70 if you let them spy on your web browsing, $99 otherwise, plus installation fees and various other mistreatments)
