Presidential contest comes to Mountain View

Original post made on May 2, 2016

In a prelude to the upcoming California primary, the state Democratic Party held its own mini-elections in Mountain View and Los Altos on Sunday to pick delegates to go the party's national convention in Philadelphia.

One correction and a question:
First, the primary is on June 7th not June 8th. If you go on the 8th you will be too late.

Second, is it possible to find out which delegates were actually selected for each slate?

@Joel

Thanks for catching that typo! I'll update the names of the delegate slates as soon as I can.

Hillary Hillary Hillary! Dump the boys' club double standard fellas or admit you can't bear to see a woman succeed beyond your visions of her place. Some fellas know whether my words apply to him or not.

Thanks for the list although I am a bit confused. I thought that (as you say in the article) each caucus was supposed to select eight delegates and one alternate, but the list includes 10 Sanders delegates and 8 Clinton delegates.

Also, for you aspiring delegates, Carole Dorshkind was the one giving out cookies at the Sanders caucus. Little wonder that she ended up with the most votes :-)

Oh well - it is interesting to see how the CA Democratic Party has worked out their party convention delegate selection. Sort of an odd year - when it looks like my choice will be limited to only one 'in the race' real person.

Mr. 'rump is hardly "reality" even if he did star in a "reality show." More of a horse's rear end (rump the 4 letter word or a.. the 3 letter word for buttocks)'.

Hi, -- I am eager to volunteer at the Democratic Office in Mountain View...
Can anyone tell me where to find it, or how to sign up...

@Mark: Thanks for the update/correction on the names.

@Patti: I don't know of an office in Mountain View. Information on the Santa Clara County Democratic Party can be found at: http://www.sccdp.org

Looks like Mayor Pat Showalter did not make the cut for Clinton.
