• Izzo Asian-Fusion Tapas at 246 Castro (former Cijjo space) officially opened Saturday (April 16). It's an expansion site of San José's Izzo Taiwanese restaurant, but with more emphasis on "Asian street food," owner Frank Chang told me. This restaurant has been in a soft-opening phase for a while.
• Buffalo Beers Burgers Baos (292 Castro) officially closed for good Sunday night (April 17), to remodel for a planned reopening in a couple of months as another outpost of the same family's very successful Srasa Kitchen (Srasa, "sross," meaning fresh) on Middlefield at Whisman, offering a build-a-meal format like Asian Box, with a Cambodian flair and unusual ingredients. (I thought the one on Middlefield offered impressive flavors, and decent value.)
• Eureka! (new tenant at 191 Castro), part of a state-wide gastropub chain mentioned here earlier Web Link , is on schedule to open in a week (Monday, April 25).Â
