Eureka restaurants coming to silicon valley in April

Eureka is a popular, independent small restaurant group from southern Ca. that has expanded into the Bay Area, known for hamburgers, small casual food items, craft beers, weekend brunches. Eureka has been preparing two new locations, one in Mountain View (birthplace of "silicon valley" per Hoefler's coinage of the term -- Shockley Semiconductor, 1956 Web Link ), the other in Cupertino (home of Apple Computer 20 years later Web Link ).

In Mountain View, the group has been remodeling the historic Mockbee Building at 191 Castro (NE corner Castro and Villa) -- the building used as the cover photo in Nick Perry's 2012 photo-history book: Web Link 191 Castro most recently housed Stuft Pizza, Kapp's, and "191."

The Mountain-View location is scheduled to open Monday April 25 at 11AM, following the Cupertino location opening Monday April 4. Further details below, from a press release. Website www.eurekarestaurantgroup.com has menus and other info.

Eureka! Cupertino is located at the new “Main Street Cupertino” lifestyle center on 19369 Stevens Creek Blvd Suite 300, Cupertino, CA 95014. Eureka! Mountain View is located on 191 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041. Daily hours are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to midnight Thursday to Saturday while featuring daily “hoppy” hours from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information on Eureka!, please visit www.eurekarestaurantgroup.com
