A lot of people are getting up 1 hour earlier than usual this week and are still sleepy when they hit the road. There are always a lot more car crashes this week. Please be careful when driving, especially in school zones and other areas where there are a lot of pedestrians.

It's Daylight Saving Time. Not Daylight Savings Time. Also known as that period when I can once again look forward to eating my breakfast in the dark.

It is worth reminding bike riders who are up before dawn that they should have lights by law, and for joggers and pedestrians to wear light colored clothes and perhaps use a flashlight also to enable them to be seen.

They are much more likely than cars to suffer from not being seen in the dark.
