$90,000 spent by a vague "Neighborhood Empowerment Coalition. . . run out of a Long Beach attorney's office" might not buy a US presidency, but keep in mind that for a City-Council race in Mountain View, that is BIG money. Candidates' campaign promotion expenditures for City Council seats have typically been in the low five digits, a small fraction of what that PAC spent.

To combat this "dark money" in statewide elections, as well as local elections, support Assembly Bill 700, the California Disclose Act. It has already passed the state Senate and is being considered by the Assembly. Go to www.yesfairelections.org and sign the petition!
