A city park that bans bikes and trees?

I agree with the MV City Leaders that the MV should reject this deal and forget about the 'future Fayette Park'. There are a couple parks within a block of Fayette Street and the death of 27 mature (I assume healthy) trees and the total burden of about $150K per year in taxpayer money over the next ten years or more do not make sense. Please go back to the drawing board and rethink the deal from scratch.

I understand that this month-old article you commented on has been obsolete for a while. KCBS has, in the interim, reported about concessions made by the utility, after wider publicity of the issue.
