Seems odd that the school had money to buy properties but not to raise salaries so teachers can pay their rents. Still glad the "dilapidated" properties are being revamped and put to good use. There is one eyesore house near the corner of Shoreline and California. Hooe they tear that down soon.

This article mentions the Cupertino Union School District's previous plans to build employee apartments.

Important update: the Cupertino Union School District has stopped the plan to build staff apartments, choosing instead to save the school for future expansion. Totally makes sense given the high growth in the area and overcrowding in schools.

“During the regularly scheduled board meeting on May 24, 2016, the Board of Education approved the staff recommendation to discontinue exploration of employee housing at the Luther Site.” (from the District website)

Time for the district to work on alternatives that are long-lasting, not band-aid solutions that don't compromise schools!
