Oh boy! I love volunteering for nonprofits like the NFL!

Isn't this outrageous? The NFL owners, all billionaires, some of the richest people in the world, allow SuperBowl subcontractor to recruit 500 "volunteers" who must be able to lift 50 pounds & attend 33 1/2 hours of pre-game training -- and, oh, won't get a game ticket. Like they can't afford to at least pay minimum wage and give each person a game ticket? Or contact the local stagehands union & pay union wages? Are we going to let this happen without objection or criticism??

How about they put all f the youth soccer players to work for them since they don't have any fields to play on..?

I totally agree with your comments. The NFL, broadcast and cable TV, the 49ers, its players, Santa Clara, and local merchants are going to reap enormous amounts of money from the Superbowl. Is it in the $billions?

And they have the chutzpah to nickle and dime local residents by asking for volunteers instead of paid workers??? I am totally outraged by this. My wife immediately commented "It just shows you how greedy the odrganizers are and how stupid sports fans are." The Superbowl is a huge inconvenience for Santa Clara County. The least thing that its organizers can do is to pay these stage hands fair wages to pump some additional money into our local economy.

As for Coldplay, can't the NFL and broadcast TV find a band that is more relevant to today's music than they are?
