I wonder what the extra cost of the police is just for Monte Carlo.

Monte Carlo employs about 2 dozen security guards and police responses are kept to a minimum>

Why would anyone want to patronize a "nightclub" that requires 2 dozen security guards?

Why does this club even have a permit from the city? Did anyone petition the city to get rid of it?

There's little value for the residents of Mountain View. It might be true that club security is able to handle the majority of fights and the drunks, but how are these fights even acceptable in the first place? How does this place benefit the majority of residents? Most of the people are driving up from San Jose, where there's plenty of clubs and other options.

As a resident on Mountain View, a couple of years ago I was on a jury involving a knife fight at this club, and during the whole trial I kept thinking "why did we give this club a permit?" -- I'm sure the club owner is making wads of cash selling liquor, but it's consuming our city resources (police, the courts) and it's a noisy mess.

They employ two dozen security guards? Are you kidding me?

If that's true, that's not a good thing. That's a sign the situation is out of control.

If this building was a retail store or a movie theater (which is was, once) they'd need zero security guards.
