And since this is a Mountain View version of the paper, how about the Mountain View rainfall total? (and really add value by reporting the % of "normal" or comparison with past years).

@MV Total: Based on NOAA data, Mountain View (Moffett) was behind seasonal average for this year on Monday Dec 21: 3.42 vs. 3.90 It was so sloppy yesterday PM and this AM that we may be near "normal", based on rainfalls that very greatly year-to-year. Hope this link helps. I did a Yahoo search on "Mountain View CA Precipitation This Year".

The Murky News weather section is pretty darned useless because it only lists SF & SFO, San Jose, and Oakland.
It would be useful if The Voice were to add a listing of weekly and total annual rainfall, both online and in the newspaper.

What are all the lawn shamers going to do with themselves now?

You still can't get over the fact that you went way over on your water allotment this year, right?

MV is always going to lag wrt totals compared to many other areas. The fact that we're on the east side of the tallest mountain on the peninsula range (called a rain shadow) assures that.
Also, I beat the drought and kept my yard lush this past year simply by capturing and recycling. 48% reduction in usage from years prior. It takes effort but you can do it if it's important enough to you. I didn't hear from any of these fabled lawn shamers though.
