"Mountain View is facing a severe lack of seasoned city planners and other staffers needed to handle an unrelenting surge in new development proposals"
Solution, stop the unrelenting surge in new developement!!!! Only bite of what you can handle. Save some developent/growth for the future.

When too many renters, landlords raise rents. When too few employees, employers offer higher salaries. Why not charge more for developer permit fees since there are more than the number the city expected to handle?

Did anyone think that the developers are themselves hiring all the qualified individuals so as to prepare their projects? Revolving door type situation?

the inside scoop in no one wants to work for mountain view anymore. the management doesn't want good people they want people who can be pushed around and wont question "authority" Everyone who is good either wants to leave or has left. case and point Web Link

@Pink Palace Insider, it looks like Beaudin has moved around a bit, does not look like an exodus from MV. Although I am surprised to see that Pleasanton, which like MV has a population of about 70,000, has 42 full-time staff in their Community Development department! I can't find in the article above how many staff we have in MV.
