What about the delay for Caltrain number 305 this morning? Why haven't they released any comment or details about that incident?

It's Santa Clara County sheriff and your 3rd paragraph does not make any sense.

@CDW: it probably was the San Mateo County Sheriff as they have jurisdiction over the entire Caltrain corridor.

That is one problem with mass transit. One little mistake or attack can knock out an entire line. It is a good reason waste $100-200 billion on high-speed rail. Even BART is a waste of money.

"A van was heading south on West Evelyn Avenue"
I think you mean it was heading east on West Evelyn. West Evelyn is clearly an east-west road so you can't go south on it unless there's some huge 90 degree curve somewhere (which there isn't).

"it struck a Caltrain signal in the middle island splitting traffic into opposite directions of traffic"
Say what?

Except that it also screwed up car traffic, just like any other car accident does.

That's the 2nd crash at this intersection this year. For those who do accident analysis.
