I've seen rents for a two bedroom unit range from $2,150 to upwards of $7,000. However, bidding wars frequently cause a fair amount of angst both for the (future) tenant and the landlord. We just rented a small, older three bedroom house on Benvenue (Los Altos) for nearly $8,000 / month although the schools in Los Altos claim to be top drawer. Best of luck.
