This article makes me happy and sad at the same time. These teachers are wonderful and I thank them for putting in the extra effort to help our kids learn and grow beyond just test scores. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

However, if it works well at Huff, what is the district plan to roll this out to the other MVWSD schools? Are Theuerkauf students also going to benefit from this program or will it just stay at Huff? And given our recent test scores we wonder why there is an achievement gap.

District needs to take a leadership role in providing shared wisdom across schools, moving great programs started at one school (whatever school that may be) and make sure it gets to all the other schools.

Congratulations to Mr. Florendo! My son is a senior at Freestyle and has had a wonderful experience. Wonderful teachers, great environment. Thanks to Leo and the District for giving MVLA students an alternative to "regular" high school. ❤️
