Thanks to City staff for intervening and to all of the organizations and community members who have assisted these families.

I also commend the City for stepping in to help these tenants assert their rights to remain in their homes. The outpouring of financial and other support from our community is also encouraging.

I recently overheard one fire fighter who had inspected the Park Vista units saying that the landlord was trying to "Google-ize" the property in reference to the remodel plans.

Thank you to the City and to the Voice for following this story. Parents in the Mistral community have been very concerned about our fellow families' struggles against some very greedy, criminally manipulative landlords.

I feel and empathize with the Park Vista Victims - Victimized not only by the fire but by the shrewd nature of the apartment owners and their employed management staff.

Though a positive for the City, where does the City Council stand? They have been silent in this matter.

Unfair evictions and constant and extreme rental increases are occurring daily. Who is helping to give these people some room to breath?

If it's know 65 percent of Mtn View is rental based, why is there not more support for these people?
