Caltrans offers $25K prize for ideas to improve transportation

Caltrans is giving Californians an opportunity to earn $25,000 in exchange for submitting the most innovative idea to improve transportation and other state services.

You are correct in saying "25k for saving millions". It should be anywhere between 50-100k. Who is to say some manager or sup. isn't going to run with these ideas that will not win?
They must be desperate and they are to blame for all the mess they made. I will submit my entry, but I don't expect any miracles anytime soon.

I think this is a great idea.

Irrelevant of the prize money what they are in effect saying is that they have no clue how to solve the problem and perhaps the people who use it might have a few ideas that just might work.

I would happily give them my ideas if I thought they might pay attention to a "nobody" rather than some expert, and I don't care about winning a prize - just getting some progress.
