Audit on the way for MV schools

Original post made on Aug 25, 2015

In an effort to root out any deep-seated problems and performance issues in the district's public schools, The Mountain View Whisman District school board agreed on Aug. 20 to have a crack team of educators conduct a district-wide audit to the tune of $275,000.

"The service, which will cost over a quarter-million dollars... Ayinde disclosed that an unnamed donor had agreed to pay for the whole thing, although the agreement was verbal only."

To the anonymous donor: Rather than paying $250,000 to the firm Cambridge Education, would you please consider donating that amount to the schools directly instead?

Really!! Your solution to solving the fragment of our children's education and schools is to consider donating that amount directly to the schools. What school would that be PACT?

Try to keep yourself in check.

This is a great thing! This type of plan is really necessary. And, he found his own donor.

MVWSD Parent - let's try to fix things so schools do not all have to "pay for themselves". It is a ridiculous notion you have that a school could solve all the problems itself.

MVWSD Mom - Leave PACT out of this. You sound petty and jealous. PACT has not asked nor received more money from the District. I am sure you love your school - more than some other school. There is no reason why a PACT parent should not love their as well. Each school in this District is really unique and has some really great qualities.

All the schools also have some challenges, and many of them are shared challenges in the entire District. Give the new Superintendent the respect to try to solve some of them.

Check yourself, I'm for Cambridge Education doing what they are being paid to do regardless of whether it's a private donor or done by the district. My comment is to "parent" for wanting to control the fund; to me it sounds like a pact kinda statement.
Youre defending them. My interest is what is best for ALL students not just one school. I don't need a scolding on respect. You used the words petty and jealous .
I think MVWSD superintendent has the interest in rebuilding and educating.

For the record, no, my kid does not go to PACT.

I can see how an audit can be helpful. I'm just slightly frustrated because I am a part of a group of parents who work our butts off every year to raise funds for our school. It's literally thousands of our own time each year, and we do it because we want to improve the school experience for our children. $275,000 is so much money! To see it go to a company makes my heart bleed, that's all.
