So the tax payers have to pay thousands of dollars to catch this guy so that Walmart can get their $30 shoes back. Tell Walmart to find the guy themselves. Our police have murderers to catch.

As a taxpayer, I think it's worth it to have Mountain View police track down a suspect who assaulted a security guard.

But that's just me...

Walmart pays a lot of taxes and is entitled to use the police services. They even hire their own security for crying out loud. How many other business's, homes, apartments, schools ect do that? Not many, most rely solely on the police and summon them for every little thing like they are their own private security forces. If anyone deserves some use of services without a bunch of crying it's the huge tax payers like Walmart who more than pay for their fair share! If someone came to your house/business and stole your property and battered you/your friend/family member I'd imagine you'd be on the phone very quickly.

Speaker ... it is definitely not just you.
Catch this violent criminal and throw the book at him.
Wal-Mart shoes are the cheapest you can get, why steal them?
That is not the best photo, but I think it is well worth finding and prosecuting him as well.
