I took a meteor shower once. OUCH! Never again, drought or no drought.

That's what Twiggy wanted to be.

Anyone knows of a good place nearby to watch it from? Shoreline Park would be closed after dark, right?

Yes, city parks including Shoreline, the Stevens Creek Trail and Bay Trail are closed 30 minutes after sunset.
I'm just going to try watching from my condo complex's lawn.

Henry Coe state park is a nice place to view the shower, away from city lights, usually above the fog level, and with a clear view of the north east part of the sky. The parking lot is open 24 hrs. Plenty of people there last night. It's not too far either (of course that's relative)
