11 applicants for school board seat

Original post made on Aug 7, 2015

The Mountain View Whisman School District is looking to fill a seat left vacant by former school board president Chris Chiang, and there are plenty of people to choose from. Community volunteers, parents and even a former City Council member have all submitted applications.

Voice,

Can you set your candidate photos to cycle?

Which one would be more likely to get pushed over the edge when Steve Nelson goes off again and retaliate with a right cross? Any of them? Hmmm, probably none of them. But still, if a candidate is looking for a campaign promise, that would definitely get some votes.

@Happy Friday: The concern would more likely be, which one of these candidates would either end up being a Steve Nelson ally, or at least knuckle under when he goes off on one of his tirades (which he will)?

Time (probably) will tell.

There are many excellent candidates in this group. It is time for Steven Nelson to resign and let someone else complete the rest of this term. The Board could then choose two candidates from this pool. Come on Steven, step down before you cost the district more money from hostile work environment lawsuits.

The school noard discussed appointing someone to fill the one vacancy on June 30. The videotape of the meeting on-line at the District's website is represented to be one hour, 15 minutes and 40 seconds. The last five minutes appear to be MISSING. Except the vote to fill by appointment (instead of an election), no vote on the agenda item appears - it was cutoff by someone. Look at the videotape on-line for yourself. Was there a discussion or vote regarding the withholding of applications submitted or other matters someone is trying to hide? Not shown (as of Friday night, August 7). Why is that?

"Resign Nelson" could be a school district employee - perhaps involved in eliminating the key last six minutes of the videotape. No telling.

Hey "dude" Have you looked at the videotape online? Do you have any explanation for the missing six (or more) minutes at the point when key issues were evidently being addressed? You can play your "Resign Nelson" games all you wish. But if you have nothing substantive to provide, readers will rightly reject your obnoxious interjections. [Portion removed]
