You find good answers to questions like this, and others like it, via the MV Historical Assn. (which has a presence at the Library, but with limited hours), or the two paperback photo history books by Nick Perry, from Arcadia Publishing and available at local bookstores such as Books Inc. downtown. (The first book is general history; the second book, "MV Then and Now," compares modern scenes all around town with photos of the same site 50, 100, or more years ago.)

Thanks Max, but when they post a sign on the road saying "Point of Historical Interest" then I think they should let the tourists, at least, know a little more. What is that sign referring to? The whole city of Los Altos? What a vague sign. I hope visitors to our area aren't circling around the back of the new Vitamin World and Chef Chu's looking for this great historical site,

You upgraded it to "Great" historical site. it is interesting, but we don't need more signs. People don't need the world spoon fed to them. If interested, get out of your car and look. That's what I did.

Find Out - yeah, um thanks for piping in. If you read my comments, I wasn't asking a for a new sign, just some info on the current one. Who said I was in a car too?
So, you got out of your car and had a look? Why not tell what you found? Maybe its the ruins of an ancient civilization where people were actually helpful and kind. Can you imagine such a place? I can't.

Oh, OK, a new sign then, that's what is needed, yah. Yes, I actually checked it out years ago but instead of playing "here comes the choo-choo, open the tunnel" by spoon feeding you, I'll do you one better by not telling you.
What's more fun, having someone tell you about their discoveries, or discovering things for yourself. Your welcome.

I think it may be the ROUTE that is historically interesting.
At one point there were many of these around: Web Link
