Two more join quest for vacant school board seat

Two more applicants have come forward seeking the vacant seat on the Mountain View Whisman school board, with two different perspectives on the district's challenges. One is a longtime advocate for the district's Latino families, and one is a new Mountain View resident who's been active in the push to open a new school serving the Whisman and Slater neighborhoods.

It would be great if the district would offer families different choices in learning and school environment and actually be able to deliver those choices to the families who chose them instead of having those families sit on a waitlist. Parents are picking private schools because the private schools deliver what parents are looking for. We are not picking private schools because they have better marketing. We are not that simple-minded.

Yes to a STEM program. Yes to more room at PACT.
