The same people who drive on Grant Road in the morning and know what 6 hours feels like.

It's great that we are getting new housing but the down side is that this housing will only benefit the staff that works at Google who can afford paying 4-5,000 for rents. Your average workers will not be even come close to affording those types of rents.

If you worked there would you *really* want to live there? The techies want and can afford something better than company dormitories however pretty.

And if you did not work there, how could you live there with all that traffic?
Who wants to sit in that traffic twice a day for no good reason.

So, either way, is there ANY proof that real people (apart from opinionated planners) want to live there.

What a great idea, you can't come and go as you please if you live in North Bayshore during Shoreline concerts. These weekday concerts create a massive traffic jam. Just one example: after sitting in traffic (including car pool lane) on 237 from almost 880, it took One hour more to get to near Shoreline Blvd on Middlefield Rd during a Tuesday concert.
By the way the cost for being in the express lane for that single driver from 880 to 237 was $6.00. I think every council member should experience the traffic mess during weekday concerts.

And if you lived there, would you get to listen to the concerts for free ???

Lets sum it up. Terrible traffic night and day, three nights a week loud music, no schools, no stores . . . sounds like a great place live.

Seriously people? Do you honestly think that the companies that reside in N. Bayshore would be pushing for housing out there if a large number of their employees DIDN'T want exactly that?

You don't want to live out there....which is good...because it's not for you anyway.

Hey "True", it's great that you believe companies care what their employees want...I'd love to join the worker's paradise where you make your living. Must be nice to be well paid, work 30 hours a week (just enough for health insurance coverage)and walk to work.

Housing out there is just a bad idea for many reasons. We need more housing but putting new rental units everywhere will not improve our lives. Mountain View should develop around Castro St,and expand its transit system to make N Shoreline easily accessible for work and for concerts.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of hearing about the poor people caught in the mess of N Bayshore. Let Google et al solve their traffic and housing problems in their 'hood --- N of Bayshore. Just make sure that they don't mess up the rest of MV in the process. "What happens N of Bayshore must stay N of Bayshore." Also, Google has one heck of a lot more cash than MV. Let them and their employees pay for the ghetto they create N of Bayshore.

Most of us lived here before there was something like Google, and don't work at Google. And we are the ones that suffer from all the traffic. We need releave and don't ask us to bike to work since most of us work in other bay area communities.
