I can not stand our current City Council decisions and this latest decision does not change my opinion of them. Now there will be 21 households displaced and for who in the long run will benefit? Surely, not those loosing there homes. Can't believe how our council has lost site of taking care of MV's current residents over those getting paid high tech wages or those with a comparable income.

In general I think increasing the number of residences is a good thing -- closing 21 residences to put in 35 could be helpful. What would be more helpful would be if those who already live there get to move into the new places too. Why do all these new structures *need* to be so expensive? Why not build some low-income spaces too, in the same community? Surely they're getting enough money out of the deal (I mean, come on, a town house for $900,000?). I'd like to see the displaced families get the help they need to move back in after the homes are built.

Instead of a system with clear rules, we have a system based on an unpredictable amount of extortion. Due I suspect to the unknown cost of obtaining permission to change from an outdated use to modern housing, the landowner chose to leave two homes and an eight room motel vacant. How are tenants benefited by living units remaining vacant?

"Mayor Mike Kasperzak was absent, as he is in China with several other Midpeninsula mayors for an economic development trip organized by U.S-Asia Innovation Gateway."

As much as Mr. Kasperzak might want to be Mayor once again, I believe Mountain View's current Mayor is John McAlister.

Is this the RV Park? Google view. Evendale North Whisman, what is the neighborhood difference?
Web Link

Here is also a notice of development on the Tyrella end of this block. So I guess all of this end of the block is getting privately redeveloped.

Palo Alto is buying the land with the help of the county to help the many low income families who live in Buena Vista. Hundreds of residents of PA showed up at every hearing to encourage the right decision from the city, ultimately.

No one was a google millionnaire helping himself to local amenities.

Dear Neighbors and Friends,
Neighbors Helping Neighbors has been working with some of the residents of this motel, mentioned in the article, which is an extended stay motel. NHN has provided them with some basic needs, guidance/counseling and enrolled them in our housing networks. Some of those residents have been there since 2010 in the motel. These folks have significant barriers to renting in the current private rental market that go beyond not having the money to move or pay rent in MV.
I do hope that the more financially stable MV residents will contact MVCC members to bring pressure to ensure that an increase amount in relocation costs is given to the residents of the motel as well as the RV Park residents.
It is noteworthy that the motel residents were told they did not qualify under the Tenant Relocation ordinance eventhough they meet the criterion. And that city department has stopped taking their calls. And has not returned NHN's phone or email messages.
Two of the motel residents are seniors with severe illnesses plus their middle age live in caregiver. Note, this motel has two bedroom suites. And they have received a notice to vacate that expires 8/22/15.
If any of the other residents in the motel or RV Park feels they would like some extra help, please contact NHN Counselors at NHN.FamilyAmbassador@gmail.com

More overpriced housing built on displacing current residences, placed on top of worthless cancer causing TCE plume ridden land on Whisman and sold to the highest bidding schmuck.

If the spaces are not being used then I can see why they are shutting the RV park down. It is better to use the space for something else that will be useful to the residents in this area. I can see the side of the residents that are currently there, but sometimes the city has to do what is best for the majority and not just a few people. Web Link
