Public accolades and private turmoil have marked the past 18 months for community activist Elena Pacheco. The tireless volunteer and teacher found herself battling cancer and homelessness after rent increases displaced her from the apartment she's lived in for more than 20 years. She allowed the ==I Voice== to document her struggle to reclaim her health and her life in Mountain View.

How can we help? Why would you write a story like this without providing information on how your readers can help this local hero in her time of need?

Please, let's figure out a way we can help this amazing woman. There must be someone who reads this who has an extra room or place to stay to offer. Can we set up a dinner schedule and driving schedule to help?
