Homeless population doubles in Mountain View

Santa Clara County's homeless population is the lowest it's been in a decade, bringing in praise from city and county officials who say the efforts to reduce homelessness are finally paying off.

Let's not forget the huge homeless camp in San Jose that was closed last year. The entire increase in M.V. could be accounted for from that eviction.

I know several of those homeless personally. A few, I went to high school with. Most had careers and homes around here before all the manufacturing companies left the area and were replaced by white collar jobs, followed by massive rent increases year after year. I'd be with them if I didn't have my late grandparents home to move into.
