We were there walking our grandkids. A good bunch of young people... Google haters should take note.

Conspicuous lack of comments from the Google haters.

Good on EVERYONE who steps up and volunteers to serve in their community, regardless of receiving accolades in the press for their volunteerism.
I along with dozens of other community members I know volunteer 100's hours (collectively) annually for a local community service organization and neither ask for nor receive PR puff pieces in local newspapers about our volunteer work. We just do the work.

Boy, you have a lot of restrictions and rules about community service. I chose to ignore them and simply say Thank you to the volunteers.
I've seen many many stories about community volunteering in this paper and i know for a fact some were initiated by the volunteering group.
You're selective memory is telling of a deeper bias.
I'm glad the Google kids helped regardless of whether or not it was in the paper. You don't seem to share the same thought and only have sour criticism.
Too bad for you. You sound generally unhappy.

I think community service volunteerism is a wonderful way to give back, regardless of being recognized publicly for the work.
