I especially enjoyed the google bus that was blocking the intersection coming off of 101 southbound & making a left turn onto Shoreline Blvd. ...it was just sitting there, parked perpendicular across Shoreline Blvd. creating gridlock. It was spectacular!

Just wait until VTA seizes a lane each direction of El Camino Real for their BRT dedicated lane boondoggle. All that traffic diverted onto surface streets. Wheeeee!

While stuck in that gridlock at 7 PM, I asked a neighboring car stuck in the gridlock where they were going. They replied, the Lana Del Rey concert.I got stuck in it again at 8:30 PM after my meeting.

Shoreline Amphitheater has regular weekday concerts all summer long. They have been doing this for years. Check their calendar and stay home on those days if you're afraid of traffic. There's another concert tomorrow, and others next week Thursday and Friday.

I'm well aware of Shoreline's concert schedule, it's the busses completely blocking major intersections at 101 that I find particularly problematic. There should be some sort of traffic control set up at the freeway on/off ramps (at least) to help insure this kind of gridlock does not happen. I go to a LOT of sporting events and there is ALWAYS additional traffic control at the intersections close to the freeway on/off ramps closest to the venues to try to keep the traffic moving relatively smoothly.

You mean there was gridlock without the BRT project?! Say it isn't so! I guess that proves that the "do nothing" scenario being requested by the peanut gallery here is fatally flawed. Thanks for playing!

Personally, I can't wait for the bus lane to be put in. It's going to be so funny as ridership skyrockets, expenses go down and the neighborhood NIMBY's move on to the next complaint.

And how is a dedicated lane BRT on El Camino Real going to solve gridlock on (Shoreline Blvd@101) resulting from SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED TRAFFIC created by an event going on at Shoreline Amphitheatre, over 2 miles across town from El Camino Real? Last time I checked VTA's BRT plan just has it zooming up and down ECR with only two planned stops in Mountain View -- at Castro Street and Showers -- no turns onto Shoreline. It's kind of a long walk from Castro Street or Showers to Shoreline Amphitheatre.

Events at Shoreline need to have special traffic management in place at the freeway on/off ramps - especially on weeknights - to try better manage the SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED TRAFFIC created by these events.
