I am so very pleased to read this. Mr. Santiago is a fantastic choice, he was an excellent teacher full of energy and always encouraging the kids to do their best. Mr. Santiago is very much indeed an excellent community member and roll model.

Finally something good will happen to Theuerkauf! Mr. Santiago was a wonderful teacher to my son and I will forever be thankful for that. Talk about a change, going from a horrible principal to someone like Mr. Santiago!

Really hope this principal can make a difference at Theuerkauf. So many of our neighborhood kids choose not to attend that school, it really breaks up the community feel. Would be really nice to have a neighborhood school people were proud to send their kids to. Tall order, but I'll stay hopeful.

@Yay: what a nasty comment you have written!! Why?? If you can't say something good and positive, say nothing. This article is about the new principal and the future .... not the principal who is retiring after giving many years of excellent service.
